This weekend we are packing up five baby years of alphabet nursery items, the crib, and childhood keepsakes our moms gave us during Ethan’s pregnancy. It’s bittersweet. When John and I broke down the crib, he said “I can’t believe it’s been five years”. It brought me back to our first house and how much fun we had decorating Ethan’s nursery…five years ago to the month! It’s also a reminder of how generous our loved ones were each time we welcomed the boys!

The fun part is now seeing the boys rooms take on their individual personalities. Ethan is moving into superhero superman theme and although Tyler is inheriting the truck theme, his recent interest in batman may become a future theme. For now we just want to see him get comfortable with a toddler bed! Ethan’s bed is now in Tyler’s room and this afternoon John will assemble the new bunk bed. Stay tuned for pics. This feels like such a big weekend for our bigger boys.

So long, baby years…it’s been a sweet, tender, challenging, and beautiful time. Not sure we will see them again but the horizon of no more diapers or sippy cups (those dirty suction straws stink something awful!) looks pretty cool too!

Here’s to a milestone…thanks for being my best friend as we navigated the baby waters together, John! xo
