Our TyBug; TyMan…Tyler Two Times

Tyler has always been a snuggle bug. He loves to be cuddled and held. He has the cutest little voice and the most contagious, mischievous laugh! He loves riding his “big boy bike” and doing play dough. Our little TyBug is officially a superhero-TyMan.

In the last two weeks he officially ditched diapers and the training potty and is waking up dry. He is totally potty trained and I can’t believe our baby has so easily reached this milestone. I guess John and I were more relaxed about it than we were with Ethan and also Ethan is a great example for Tyler to follow. Even though the little man makes it a personal goal to do ALL his business at EVERY potty break, he is trained and we are very proud of him!! It felt great to pass along his remaining diapers and pull-ups! We only used half a sleeve of pull-ups from the case and he was done training-score!

He really enjoyed his 3rd birthday! He woke up to Batman decor and balloons. That day he went with Susie to the pottery place nearby and he did a batman color plate with his handprint. The photos are adorable-will post them once we get the plate. Susie said he loved it! We pick up the finished plate this week. That afternoon we rode bikes all around and did Batman cake and presents after pizza. Nana, Papa, and Uncle Pat were Facetimed in to sing Happy Birthday and open presents with us-so cool! Thanks to the Grandparents, Moyer, Wilson, and Beach Families for all the wonderful gifts. He loved opening each one and all the generous presents are being enjoyed by him and Ethan! Thank you so much!!

Our gift to him was a Batman themed bedroom. John did a wonderful job painting the room and doors. He added a batman symbol to the doors as well. It looks awesome! I put up some custom Batman-themed prints and made him a batman pillowcase. The changing table is now being used as a little storage shelving unit. Susie and John got him a really neat Batman nightlight. We are waiting on a batman stuffed pillow we ordered so once it arrives I’ll take a picture. He loves it! Both our boys are fully submerged in superhero decor!

It’s so fun to reflect on the past 3 years and see how much love Tyler brings to our family. “Of you” is how he says “love you”. He’ll say “love you too” even if he’s the first one to say it. He hates covers and doesn’t want to be tucked in. He just wants to snuggle with his “baba”. Some of the threads are so loose on it that one night he woke up with them caught around his finger and I had to cut them off. He loves that Baba and it goes everywhere with us. His favorite shows are Fireman Sam and anything Superhero related. He eats dessert as if it’s a religious practice. It’s done peacefully and with devotion. It takes him for-ever. And we get a big kick out of it.

He’s definitely no stranger to a yelling fit, tantrum, or stubbornness. But, his big eyes could melt any heart-especially when he says “sit by me, sit by me”. He’s Tyler Two-Times…he says everything twice. “yes I do, yes I do” “that one, that one”. It’s his trademark.
