We enjoyed the weekend over at Nana and Papa’s house. John and I got in Saturday morning from his company Christmas party. John and Susie had watched the boys and then brought them to Palos. We had a great time enjoying Nana’s delicious homemade Christmas cookies. Uncle Pat and his girlfriend were able to join us for dinner and presents. The boys received some super fun toys and also a renewed membership to our local zoo!!! Thanks, Nana, Papa, and Uncle Pat!
The last morning of our visit, we took the boys across the street to do some sledding. The kids loved it! After about 20 minutes we were sufficiently cold enough to want to head home. So glad the boys enjoyed some snow before heading back to…achem, 70 degree weather!
Thanks to all of our family for the hospitality and memories! We love getting back to Chicago for holiday celebrating!!!! The boys did a great job traveling too. Each year gets easier and easier (I’ll spare you the nightmare that was Tyler screaming through the airport when we were headed to Chicago. Let’s just say it was a hellish 30 minutes from the car to security. We were “those” people with the hysterical child. Once to security, he had somewhat calmed down and the agent asked for a high five and got no response. I replied “sorry, he’s a ticking time bomb” to which John said “probably not the best thing to say at airport security. Luckily, the rest of our travels were uneventful-phew!). With movies and snacks, they are both great flyers. I even got to do a crossword puzzle?! 🙂
